With the increase of the corona numbers, the planning for further distance learning with Zoom can be concretized. It is recommended to consider the following didactic hints:

  1. Sight structures: Provide for visible structures (beginning and end of teaching phases, discussion elements, digital delivery of materials, …).
  2. Presenting lecturing as input and motivation: Use forms of presentation (lecture, explanatory video, technical article) primarily to stimulate further learning processes (follow-up assignments and exchange among students coupled).

  3. Asynchronous exchange: integrate Moodle “forum” or “messaging” features into your event series and address them during the face-to-face event (feedback, additional information).

  4. Exercises: Limit the pure exercise material and provide solutions (formative testing). Supplement the exercises with surprising and creative tasks that can be solved in the group (brainteasers).

  5. Motivation: Increase motivation by giving learners more agency and self-regulation. Offer a choice of learning paths (experience autonomy), allow digital learning products to be produced (experience competence) and incorporate cooperative elements (experience social inclusion and relatedness). Involve learners in lesson planning (agile didactics).
